Michael Bay ‘in talks’ with Warners to direct Lobo movie

February 9th, 2018 by Marc Comments

Well, if you thought Zack Snyder was a polarising director for BvS and Justice League, wait until you hear this one… Michael Bay is talking to Warner Bros to direct a Lobo movie picking up from Brad Peyton, director of San Andreas and Guy Ritchie before that.

Yup.

OK, so I can already hear the hate, but look, I get it, however… I will happily admit to liking Bad Boys, The Rock and the first Transformers (and maybe the third one), so the idea that Bay could make a solid movie isn’t really THAT out there. That said, I do understand that the bad outweighs the good here.

Anyway, here’s the details.

Word is that DC/Warners are going Lobo, an intergalactic bounty hunter/mercenary, could be their answer to Deadpool on the big screen.

“Bay met with DC to discuss the project and gave some notes that “Wonder Woman” writer Jason Fuchs will incorporate into a rewrite. The studio plans to show the rewrite to Bay to see if they can make a deal, the insiders said.”

Hmmmmmmmm….

We want to hear your thoughts on this one fellow Nerds and Nerdettes.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
