Michael Keaton’s The Birdman has a cast to die for…

Ever since Batman in 1989 I loved Michael Keaton. After that I followed his work and founf The Dream Team, Beetlejuice and so much more. He hasn’t done so much recently so anytime I hear of him making a movie I get a little excited…

Birdman sounds pretty awesome. Directed by Amores Perros director Alejandro Gonzalez Innaritu and starring Keaton as a retired actor who once played a superhero and is trying to get a Broadway show up and running but runs into problems with a maniacal lead actor.

The rest of the cast at the minute consists of Hangover star Zach Galifianakis as a scheming producer, Amazing Spider-man’s Emma Stone as Keaton’s daughter who is just out of rehab and King Kong’s Naomi Watts would be an actress in the show, so its nerd credentials are already high. Throw in a world class director like Innaritu – Amores Perros is a tour-de-force of a movie – and suddenly this could be a real contender for movie of 2014 as production kicks off in April. More as we get it guys…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
