UPDATED: Michael Rooker to play King Shark in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel?

May 10th, 2019 by Marc Comments

It looks like James Gunn has found his King Shark for the Suicide Squad sequel.

And, it’s no surprise that it’s going to be Gunn favourite Michael Rooker.

Gunn stepped in for the DC sequel after Disney fired him (did they, though?) for some tasteless tweets that resurfaced after a number of years.

The movie will be an original story but is set in the world of the original Suicide Squad movie with Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinnaman returning and joining new cast members including Idris Elba.

While the deal is reportedly not done yet, it’s looking likely this will be a done deal sin Rooker has appeared in previous Gunn movies including the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and slither.

What do you all think of the casting? Let us know…

The Squad return on August 6th, 2021

UPDATE:

Rooker has taken to social media to deny he’s involved in the movie:
