UPDATED: The new poster (above) is pretty damned great!
The first trailer for New Line’s adaptation of Stephen King’s It has arrived.
Despite myself, I can’t help but feel that it does look pretty damn good. The atmosphere and tone seem just right, the performances look good (or as good as they can look in a teaser) and most importantly of all, even though Bill Skarsgard isn’t Tim Curry, he does bring a real malevolence to Pennywise.
For anyone unfamiliar with the concept, the film is adapting the first half of King’s novel and will see seven school kids fighting against the titular monster. It is a shape-shifting monster that lives underneath their small Maine town (it’s King, what do you expect?) and emerges every few decades to feed, this time taking on the form of Pennywise the Dancing Clown. A second part is already in the works, which will see the survivors taking on the monster again, decades later.
