And in other news from San Diego, the first trailer for Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson and John Goodman’s King Kong prequel/reboot/side-quel Kong: Skull Island has landed.
Now, normally this reboot/remake stuff is guaranteed to send me spare. But – Odin help me – this time it actually looks kinda good. Take a look:
The 70s setting gives the film a real Vietnam vibe, like Platoon only with a giant ape in it. The scenery is spot on, the talent good and the effects aren’t horribly cheesy like you might expect. Might have to keep an eye on this one…
