National Treasure TV reboot AND third movie in the works

May 8th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Ohhhhh… big news for fans of the Nicholas Cage National Treasure franchise as not only is the third movie being worked on, but Disney+ are working on a TV series too.

While the movie, being written by Chris Bremner, will wrap up the fan-favourite trilogy, the series will, you guessed it, be a reboot.

The series is believed to be produced by ABC Studios, where Jerry Bruckheimer’s Bruckheimer Television used to be.

“We’re certainly working on one [National Treasure] for streaming and we’re working on one for the big screen,” Bruckheimer said.

“Hopefully, they’ll both come together and we’ll bring you another National Treasure, but they’re both very active… The one for Disney+ is a much younger cast. It’s the same concept but a young cast. The one for theatrical would be the same cast.”

As for the series, he adds: “we have a pilot script done and an outline of the future episodes.”

I’m a big fan of the first two movies so i’ll be looking forward to the third instalment and I’ll keep an open mind about the reboot.

What about you all?
