It looks like we may see another character added to the Ant-man family (literally) in future installments of the MCU franchise if new concept art is anything to go by.
Ant-Man and the Wasp’s senior concept artist Jackson Sze has shared some of his concept art on his Instagram page (we’ve shared it below) and it hints at little Cassie Lang, daughter of Scott Lang in the movie, being miniaturised with her dad to go on random fun adventures… perhaps during Scott’s house-arrest in the movie?
Anyway, this harkens to the comics in which Cassie is the hero Stinger/Stature who develops the ability to shrink/grow after her dad exposes her to Pym Particles when she develops a heart defect.
Now, obviously Abby Ryder Fortson who plays Cassie in the movie is only nine but there’s definitely an opportunity to see her suit up when she gets a little older in the MCU and Marvel are all about the next generation of heroes.
And she is in Infinity War II so you never know what is coming…
It looks like Ant-Man and the Wasp might have almost seen another character suiting up.
Young Fortson recently said that she thinks her character in the sequel wants to be a hero, so perhaps this is setting up future events: “I think in this movie she really shows that she’s really interested in becoming a superhero. In the last movie, she doesn’t really wrap her head around it, so in this movie, she really wants to fight with her dad.”
And director Payton Reed himself teased that maybe something is being set up for the future: “He’s [Scott] kind of built this whole cardboard maze to show her, okay, I can’t responsively shrink you down, but this is what it’s like to shrink. This is kind of what it’s like, and she’s intrigued, and says, ‘Oh, I wish we could do it for real.’ So there’s a real curiosity about her dad, and what he does.”
Yeah, we’re going to see Cassie suit up sooner or later…
