New images and (very) brief teaser for Kingsman: The Golden Circle

April 18th, 2017 by Marc Comments

Today we’ve gotten a look at a new (very brief) teaser for Kingsman: The Golden Circle as well as four new images and an additional two from Empire Magazine. So, you know, big day…

As well as getting our first look at Channing Tatum as a cocky cowboy spy codenamed Agent Tequila, Halle Berry as the Statesmen’s tech guru, Ginger and Jeff Bridges as their leader, Agent Champagne in the movie we also got a few cool soundbites from director Matthew Vaughn.

Speaking of the scale of the movie, Vaughn said: “There’s an opportunity with Kingsman 2 to make it bigger and bolder and funnier and crazier. The church sequence [in the first movie], everyone wants something like that, but we’ve got action sequences which are just as original but different.”

“They’re great characters,” says Vaughn of Tatum, Berry and Bridges. “They’re multi-billionaires with huge jets, and their base is a giant distillery in Kentucky. We’ve got all this fun Americana and we’re combining it with the Englishness.”

As for Egerton’s Eggsy character from the first movie, it looks like he’ll have a lot of backstory this time out: “We’ve got a huge arc for Eggsy,” says Vaughn.

“Where does he go? What does he have to learn? And now he’s got a huge moral dilemma the audience will totally relate to.”

Will the dilemma be the seeming return from the dead of Colin Firth’s Harry? We’ll all know in September…

Kingsman: The Golden Circle is out on 22 September.

“Kingsman: The Secret Service” introduced the world to Kingsman – an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…

Director: Matthew Vaughn
Written by: Jane Goldman & Matthew Vaughn, based on the comic book “The Secret Service” by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons
Cast: Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Halle Berry with Sir Elton John, and Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
