New John Wick spin-off movie gets a director and we know who it’s based around…

October 9th, 2019 by Marc Comments

It looks like the John Wick universe is about to grow on the big screen as well as the small.

So, you probably recall that a series based in The Continental is already in the works, but now Lionsgate has hired Live Free Or  Die Hard’s Len Wiseman to direct Ballerina, the female-led new action entry in the world of high-octane action.

“Ballerina focuses on a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family. The picture is on a fast track, with a script by Shay Hatten, whose credits include the Zack Snyder-directed Army of the Dead for Netflix and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.”

The character was glimpsed briefly in John Wick 3 when Wick was looking for a way to get to safety and went back to see Anjelica Huston’s character:

While an actress called Unity Phelan played her in the movie it is currently believed it will be a different actress playing her in the movie.

I love the world of John Wick and I admit to liking Wiseman’s Die Hard entry, so I’m all in for this.

Let me know your thoughts, guys…
