For as long as we can remember. Wesley Snipes has been saying Marvel want to bring Blade back to the MCU (here) and that he’s been having ‘talks’ with them.
With rumours including everything from Blade’s daughter (here) to the (more likely now, given Ghost Rider in Agents of SHIELD this season) rumours that Netflix want him the next lineup of Marvel shows (here).
Whatever the truth of these may be, it looks likely that Marvel are indeed looking at ways to get Blade into the MCU – and we say ‘yes, please!’.
Now, coming from an unlikely source, the rumours are about to kick off again.
Talking at NYCC 2016 yesterday, Underworld: Blood Wars star Kate Beckinsale was asked if there was any possibility of her vampire franchise ever meeting Blade, the day walker. And her answer provoked more questions than answers:
“No. We had that idea. No,” Beckinsale said, “They’re busy. They’re doing something with Blade.”
That’s certainly interesting, isn’t it? And Underworld Vs Blade franchise couldn’t happen because Blade is tied up in Marvel’s plans… watch this space for more details. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
