A few weeks back we had a leaked look at Emma Watson and Dan Stevens together as Beauty & The Beast for Disney’s upcoming live-action movie (here).

Well, now we have officially released images, including our first look at Luke Evans as Gaston and it really looks like – no surprise – Disney have nailed the look of the animated universe perfectly.

The images are embedded above and below, so have a look and let us know what you all think.

Directed by Bill Condon (Mr. Holmes) from a screenplay by Evan Spiliotopoulos (The Huntsman: Winter’s War) and Stephen Chbosky (Jericho, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which also starred Watson), the new movie is based on Disney’s 1991 Oscar-nominated Beauty and the Beast animated feature and stars Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as the titular Beast, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Luke Evans as Gaston and Josh Gad as Le Fou, as well as our quartet of CGI characters Cogsworth (played by Ian McKellen), Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson), Lumière (Ewan McGregor) and Plumette (Gugu Mbatha-Raw).

Beauty and the Beast will open the doors to its enchanted castle on March 17, 2017.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
