It looks like Paramount has no problem loading the release schedule with sequels… in fact, it’s their bread and butter.

At the CineEurope Conference in Barcelona – running June 16-19 – yesterday, Paramount Pictures International svp, EMEA Edward Ryan was pushing their two big summer realises, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Tranfromers: Age of Extinction, but he also pointed out a few future releases.

Next year we will see The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water in 3D for a January/February start, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 and The Gambler, starring Mark Wahlberg. He also featured a sizzle reel for Michael Bay’s Project Almanac, about a group of high school kids who make a time machine.

Also coming next year is Terminator: Genesis, Friday the 13th in 3D and Mission Impossible 5, directed by Chris McQuarrie and starring Tom Cruise.

For 2016, Ryan promised Paranormal Activity 5, a new take on Ben Hur directed by Timur Bekmambetov, the return of Eddie Murphy for Beverly Hills Cop 4, Transformers 5, GI Joe 3, Hansel and Gretel 2 and Star Trek 3.

SO, there’s all those… not sure if we’re most excited for Beverly Hills Cop 4 or GI Joe 3… what about you guys

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
