Jean-Luc-Picard

When the topic of captains arrives in a Star Trek conversation, two usually float to the top really quickly. One is obviously James Tiberius Kirk. The other? Jean-Luc Picard.

Of all the Star Trek captains, these two are not only the most beloved by fans, but they’re also the most storied. Both have had numerous movies and TV episodes with them as the captain of their respective Enterprise. With the reboot of Star Trek (the Kirk version) now basically three movies in, a question about whether Patrick Stewart would be willing to done the Star Fleet uniform once more as Jean-Luc Picard made its way to the captains ears. Here’s what he had to say:

“Absolutely…,” Stewart responded to a fan’s question, “if it were a really good script. But, the poor soul is getting old and long in the tooth. He would probably need some help mounting his horse unlike the youthful captain of 30 years ago.”

So the possibility is there, however unlikely. Oh, and in case you were thinking “they may do a young Jean-Luc like they did with the reboot!”, he was asked about that too. He said if that were to happen, he’d want his son Daniel to play Jean-Luc.

Hey, he’s the captain, he can pick who he wants!
