The Marvel panel at this years comic con is sure to be exciting what with the upcoming Avengers Age of Ultron which looks to be an even bigger success story than the first. And then theres Ant Man, which just looks to be in major trouble.
Deadline are reporting that three actors have jumped ship – Patrick Wilson, Matt Gerard and Kevin Weisman. Speculation is rife that the unprecedented decision by three cast members to walk off the project was down to the mysterious departure of director Edgar Wright. But thats not the case as Wilson had to leave Ant Man due to a scheduling conflict, due to the delays in filming. As for Gerard and Weisman, their characters were simply written out of the new screenplay by current scribe Adam McKay. We are slightly disappointed by this, as it would certainly been interesting to see how Gerard’s character, who was previously seen in Marvel one-shot All Hail The KIng, would have fitted into this movie.
The news comes after Evangeline Lily revealed that she would not be appearing in the film, despite heavy rumours of her involvement.
Ant Man crashes into cinemas on July 17th, next year. Hopefully.
