There’s been a lot of speculation about who the main villain of Wonder Woman 1984 would be and now, thanks to director Patty Jenkins, we have a definitive answer.
Now, we know that Kristen Wiig will be in the movie as Cheetah, a big villain for sure, but there has been rumours that Game of Thrones and The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal was playing Maxwell Lord in the movie… and now it seems he is.
Jenkins took to Twitter (below) and posted an image of Lord from the comics and tagged Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadot, and also Pascal.
So it’s a safe bet he;s playing the villain in the movie,
In the comic Lord was introduced as a good guy who eventually turned out to be a villain, and it’s expected in the movie he will be manipulating Wonder Woman’s reality – and may be responsible for Chris Pine’s return as the dead Steve Trevor.
It’s worth noting too that in the comics Wonder Woman famously snaps Lord’s neck, killing him… will we get that iconic moment here? Unlikely after the ‘Superman snapped Zod’s neck!’ cries after Man Of Steel.
