OK, full disclosure here, I loved 2012’s Django Unchained but I was not aware that Quentin Tarantino and John Wagner had penned a comic sequel.
Nor was I aware that said sequel starred Django – played in the movie by Jamie Foxx – and the legendary Zorro.
So imagine my excitement that there’s a movie in the works!
Yes, Tarantino has tapped comedian Jerrod Carmichael to co-write a Django/Zorro movie which, like the comic, will take place several years after the first movie and will see Django – still a bounty hunter – stumble across an aged Diego de la Vega AKA Zorro.
Pretty soon the duo team up to take down a town full of evildoers!
All. The. Yes!
Tarantino has long said he would return after his tenth movie and he’s already tipped to make a Star Trek movie at Paramount, so it’s hard to know if this is a project he’d want to direct himself or even if Foxx would be returning – my guess would be Tarantino will co-write and produce, while Foxx will return as Django.
As always, once I know more, you’ll all know more too.
Let me know if you’d be interested in such a team-up in all the usual ways.
