Well, the casting moves ahead on Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) movie as we get the first hero in a half shell…
Yes, it looks like Raphael is the first to be cast with Alan Ritchson dawning the heavy CGI/motion capture of Raphael. He joins the already – cue the hate – cast Megan Fox as April O’Neill.
Ritchson has some nerd stripes already, having played Aquaman in Smallville, we’re guessing the suits from previous live-action TMNT movies are now a thing of the past and this time out the boys in green will be motion capture, presumably this means his voice will be the only – or mainly – identifiable part of his performance.
In other TMNT news, it seems the first confirmed location for the movie has been revealed. Yes, according to this link, ‘The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports that the filmmakers producing next year’s “Ninja Turtles” movie will find out when they film some scenes at the closed Big Tupper Ski Area in Tupper Lake (pictured below).
“Village Mayor Paul Maroun says the movie company needed a closed ski resort and Big Tupper fit the bill. The ski mountain in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains has been closed because of financial problems.
“Up to 80 people are expected to work on the shoot, which begins next week.”
Are the ninjas leaving the sewers for the snow? Who knows how this will fit into the story… let the hate commence in 5… 4… 3… 2…
