REVEALED: Infinity War writer confirms who Hulk met in the Soul Stone

We finally have an answer to one of Avengers: Endgame’s threads left hanging at the end of the movie.

We all know that when Thanos acquired the Soul Stone in Avengers: Infinity War he entered what is called the Soul World and, while in there he saw a younger version of his daughter Gamora (the only person Thanos ever loved, apparently) and we know that, thanks to a deleted scene (below) that Tony Stark met an older version of his daughter, Morgan (played by Katherine Langford), but we never found out who (Professor) Hulk met.

Deleted scene with Tony and Morgan:

But now we have an answer to who Hulk met.

During ComicBook’s #QuarantineWatchParty last night, Avengers: Endgame writer Christopher Markus revealed it was Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner who entered the Soul Stone and while in there he encountered… the Hulk:

“We did write one, a conversation between Hulk and Banner, but it didn’t make it to camera.” says Markus.

“Ruffalo showed up but Hulk wouldn’t come out of his trailer.”

Given how Hulk feared Thanos in Infinity War and given his stubborn nature, this makes sense and, I guess, in the context of the story and character, it would make sense thematically too… it just seems like a little bit of a cheat.

Anyway, we now know the three meetings in the Soul World were Thanos and Gamora, Tony and Morgan and now Banner and Hulk.

So, what say you all? Does that make sense? Do you think it’s a good answer? I want to hear those thoughts, guys…
