Revealed: What happened Bruce Willis’ appearance in Expendables 3?

August 8th, 2013 by Marc Comments

I’m going to be honest, I really liked Bruce Willis in The Expendables 2 but we’ve heard for years that he can be… hard work and it looks like this proves it.

We all saw the tweet during the week (below) from Sylvester Stallone saying Willis had been replaced (booooooo!) by Harrison Ford (yaaay!) but when he called Willis “greedy and lazy” we knew all was not well.

Now The Hollywood Reporter are saying that a source close to the movie has said that Willis was offered $3 million for four days of work shooting in Bulgaria but he refused, saying he wanted $4m… wait, that’s $1m per day!?

The source claims that when Willis made the demand  “Stallone and everybody else involved said no.”

Apparently Stallone then contacted Ford who was totally keen: “I think [Willis] was pretty surprised he was replaced in 72 hours by Harrison Ford — a better actor, a much nicer person and a more interesting direction for the film.”

The movie is due for release next summer and will star Stallone, Ford,  Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke and Wesley Snipes. But not Bruce Willis.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
