We’ve suspected for a while now that we will be seeing an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie in the new Star Wars line-up and if the new rumour is true then we may now know when.
The folks over at OmegaUnderground are reporting that a source has informed them that ground is being broke in the movie’s pre-production.
“A production source has revealed the studio is expecting this Kenobi film to begin filming at Pinewood Studios UK (confirmed stage location) sometime in January 2019.”
With the movie going by the filming name ‘Joshua Tree’, it’s looking more and more likely we’ll be seeing it pop up ion May 2020 – the Han Solo anthology started filming last January and will be in cinemas next May, so this would make sense.
There’s no word on Ewan McGregor’s return., although we reckon it’s likely he will given that he has numerous times expressed interest in returning to the role after his performances in Episode II and III (here).
So, what say you? Are we close to an official announcement? You know we’ll keep you all posted.
