With the Deadpool sequel confirmed and Cable confirmed as being a part of that, could we be seeing even more from the X-Men franchise in an X-Force film?

Well according to Ryan Reynolds he is hoping to build even more connections to the X-Men universe, in a recent interview he revealed: “There’s so much material to mine in just the X-Men universe… in the future, if we’re doing a bunch more Deadpool movies, we’re really going to explore the X-Men a lot. We’ll see. And maybe X-Force – X-Force is my priority. I really want to get that in.”

X-Force for those that don’t know, would be the ideal fit for the far more mature (and immature) levels of Deadpool, with a handpicked team members who don’t exactly play nice.

Cable himself being the first leader of the team, the Deadpool sequel would be the ideal place to build towards an ensemble film.

And with other fan favourite mutants such as Wolverine, Collossus, Bishop, Psylocke, Domino & Marrow (hinted at in Deadpool) to choose from it’ll be interesting to give some of the lesser known heroes a chance to shine.

For now though we can only dream with the film currently in development hell. Jeff Wadlow was hired to pen the screenplay, though not much has been heard since and with no director attached or scheduling from Fox on a possible release date, it isn’t off to the best of starts.

However it’s not all bad news, with Deadpool looking to perform well and Reynolds himself pushing for X-Force to happen, hopefully the studio will give it the green light to go into production.

Deadpool is out in cinemas right now…what you waiting for go see it!
