What a time for Scott Pilgrim fans!
We have recently learned that the Scott Pilgrim Vs The World video game is looking likely to finally get a physical release (here) while we also learned that the movie itself will be getting a rerelease for its tenth anniversary which is this month but that damned virus but a dampner on things.
On top of this, it looks like a sequel to the iconic graphic novel series and an an animated series might be in the works (here) and now we have some cool news for fans of the movie’s music.
Scott Pilgrim is a fantastically stylised movie from director Edgar Wright that brings Bryan Lee O’Malley’s pop-culture hero to life in a fantastically visual way… but the soundtrack too is an intricate part of the story, bringing to life songs lifted straight from the page.
And now we are finally getting Nigel Godrich’s score on a physical release for the first time on vinyl – and hopefully CD – and on top of that, the soundtrack too is getting a re-release with all new tracks from Beck, Sex Bob-Omb and the long sought Black Sheep version which has been sought by fans for a decade.
My son – a massive fan of Scott Pilgrim – assures me that the Black Sheep version is Brie Larson’s cover of Metric’s Black Sheep which was only glimpsed in the movie, meaning this is the first time the full version has been made available.
Larson herself told fans on Instagram that her song was coming soon (here).
