Honestly we sort of thought that the Sherlock Holmes movies were dead in the water, but it seems we were wrong.

While doing the press circuit for Captain America: Civil War, Robert Downey Jnr spoke with Shortlist Magazine and has said that the plan is to get another Sherlock Holmes movie: “We’ll attempt to make one this year,” Downey Jnr said.

“When we’re making those Sherlock movies it is off the hook. It really is a big deal to go and do those movies. I’m tired all the time, but I’m excited about it.”

Director of the first two movies, Guy Ritchie is filming Knights Of The Roundtable: King Arthur so it’ll be closer to the end of the year before it’ll even be a possibility, but Downey Jnr said the movie is in pre-production already.

It will be written by Iron Man 3’s Drew Pearce, so we’re hopefully for a fun entry in the series.

What about you guys? Are you looking forward to see the Downey Jnr Holmes back?
