For those who don’t know, Ghostbusters turns 35 tomorrow – and yes, I still recall being there opening night – and with Ghostbusters Fanfest happening in LA as I write this, I’m waiting for big news.
And none of it comes bigger than this.
In a new interview with the wonderful Sigourney Weaver in Parade (give it a read, it’s really good overall – link below) the actress is asked about reuniting with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd (no mention of Ernie Hudson but we KNOW he’s up for coming back) and without breaking stride, she says: “It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again!”
The article notes that all she’ll add is that she is playing Dana Barrett again.
I seriously expect to hear more over the weekend from Fanfest – and I’m holding out for news on the return of Annie Potts, Rick Moranis, William Atherton and others but for now, this is such great news…
Let me know your thoughts.
UPDATE:
From Ghostbusters Fanfest last night at the Sony lot in LA, it was revealed that while the actors haven’t signed up yet (it certainly sounds like they will), they have all read the script – including Ernie Hudson! – and shooting is expected to begin in five short weeks.
