Sooooo… Disney has no plans for a third Frozen

June 29th, 2020 by Marc Comments

In a new interview Disney animator and director of story on Frozen 2 Marc Smith has discussed the future of the Frozen universe and it’s, well, it’snot what I thought he was going to say.

When Frozen first appeared in 2013 it was an immediate hit – I admit to really loving it myself and my daughter became absolutely obsessed with the characters and, sure enough, it wasn’t too long until a sequel was rumoured, then confirmed and finally released last year.

But, despite a few animated shorts in between, it seemed that a lot of those who loved the first movie has sort of drifted on by the time Frozen II arrived and, despite it too being a big success for Disney, it felt like it just came and went.

Which may be why, so far, there’s no discussions about a Frozen III.

For the record, II is nowhere near as good as the first.

When asked about a third instalment, Smith replied: “We have not had that discussion. I think Frozen 2 is still too close to everyone’s minds and ideas to, to think about what happens beyond, beyond that.”

Oh.

Ok then.

So… there’s been no discussions about where Anna, Elsa, Olaf and the gang go next.

If there is, we’ll let you know as soon as we hear.

Let me know if you want to return for another trip to Arendelle? Let me know, gang.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
