After my report a few days ago that JJ Abrams’ Star Trek Kelvin Timeline (below) was dead, Paramount, after years without a big-screen outing and years too of sub-par TV shows, is hoping to revitalise the Star Trek universe with a new movie.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and Spider-Man: Homecoming screenwriters and Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley will write, produce and direct a new Star Trek movie which will not be connected to any past movie or series, meaning if you were hoping to see any of Trek’s famous faces, from Chris Pine to Patrick Stewart, it’s not going to happen.

With Star Trek Beyond being the last big screen Trek movie, way back in 2016, it’s almost a decade since we spent time in that universe on the big screen, something Paramount is very keen to put right and now that it’s owned by Skydance, who took over it in Auguest, it seems they want Star Trek to return to its rightful place as one of the jewels in the crown
After many failed efforts in the last nine years, will this finally put Star Trek back on the right path? I certainly hope so…
Thoughts? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all!
