Well, if you’ve seen Deadpool (and who hasn’t) at this stage, you’ll know that Stan Lee’s cameo in it was something of an eye-opener.

And the legend has been talking about it and why he’s not happy with it. But, it’s not why you think. Or, well, it might be, actually.

Speaking to EW, Lee said that he had one big problem: “I wish I had spent more time in the strip club. They had me in and out too quickly.”

Lee said late last week that he would be retiring from Convention appearances in Canada after Fan Expo this year: “I’ve had the pleasure of participating in Fan Expo Canada over the years and I’ve always been so impressed by how committed and loyal the fans are.

“Longevity in this business is only truly possible with the support of the fans – and Toronto has some of the best. As a result, I’m making Fan Expo Canada my last Canadian public appearance. I look forward to seeing new and familiar faces in September.”

However, with his scaling back of appearances, the 93-year-old said he still loves being in the movies and revealed a little secret about Marvel’s recent success: “If it’s a Marvel movie, I’m there for it,” he said.

“Whenever a new movie comes out, I hope they’ll have a spot for me. I get such a kick out of doing it. The fans seem to like it. I’m going to tell you a secret, here’s the reason the movies make so much money: My cameo. A man takes a girl to the movie, right? They’re watching the movie and they bend down to get some popcorn. In so doing, they miss my cameo. Now the movie ends, and they say, ‘My God, we missed Stan’s cameo!’ So what do they do? They run to the box office and buy two more tickets and see it again. That’s why the movies do so well, because of my cameos.”

You know, he just might be on to something there. Either way, we love Stan and hope to see him in many Marvel movies still to come.

Deadpool is now playing in theaters.
