The Following The Nerd Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary Special

June 8th, 2014 by Marc 1 Comment

Yes, can you believe it? Ghostbusters is 30 this weekend (how old do we feel?) and to celebrate we’ve reached far and wide to bring together some of the biggest and best names in the Ghostbusters franchise for one show… sort of like a super nerdy Avengers…

First up, Marc and Saxon will be talking to Michael C Gross, the man who designed the no-ghost logo, sculpted the hell hounds and was basically involved in the movie from day one.

Next up, we’ll be talking to the one and only Laura Summers, Laura was the voice of Janine Melnitz in the Real Ghostbusters animated series.

We’ll also have writer Erik Burnham and artist Dan Schoening both of whom are working on the superb New Ghostbusters comic from IDW and, frankly making us happy Ghostheads every four weeks.

We’ll also have Anthony and Claire Bueno, the filmmakers who are working on the definitive documentary look at Ghostbusters, Cleanin’ Up The Town.

And, we make no promises, but we don’t rule out the possibility of others popping in too…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….

this kickstarter has being one ambitious project to get completed by turning to the
fans of Ghostbusters within interests of contributing funds and with
a plethora of awards in every tier some higher ones are better than others
if you want your name legendary in the end credits its going to cost you
a pretty huge pay packet that’s if you’re bank balance can handle it
and with over it’s deadline on march the 7th in order to raise over £40,000
in GBP it will be a herculean task to say not many fans are over the moon
having to pay £50,00 or more for an blu ray combo pack with linear notes
booklet about the documentary and your name legendary at the end as
for your efforts in the project only over two hundred fans and counting
all have pledged for it the even higher tier awards have gone I am already
supporting in this but it’s going to be a hard one to succeed.
