We’re sorry we’re a little late with this one, folks, but this is well worth reporting…
Director Jon Favreau has confirmed that he has cast the main two leads in his upcoming live-action Lion King.
Having just come off making the live-action Jungle Book, Favreau is back in the wild with Disney’s most famous characters and this time he’s giving us Community’s Donald Glover (soon to be Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo movie) as the young lion Simba and another Star Wars legend, James Earl Jones – the voice of Darth Vader – as his father, king Mufasa.
This is cool on many levels but it’s particularly awesome because Jones was the voice of Mufasa in the 1994 original movie.
