So there’s a Monopoly movie coming. And we’re still not sure what exactly that means.
But never fear, all shall become clear. Possibly.
Believe it our not, a Monopoly movie idea has been floating around for a while now – at one stage Ridley Scott was attached to direct the story of a guy who was magically transported into the board game, it was to be written by one of There’s Something About Mary’s scribes, Frank Beddor.
However, the newest idea behind it is something quite different.
It’s going to be like Goonies.
Hold on, what?
Talking to Collider, producer Randall Emmett says there’s a new Monopoly script and an announcement of a director will happen next month: he says the movie will be like The Goonies and will be about a bunch of kids trying ti escape an evil tycoon.
Em, right.
