Theo James is going back to Underworld.
Lakeshore Entertainment is currently developing the fifth film in the vampire franchise and Divergent actor James is apparently attached as the lead.
James played a vampire named David in 2013’s Underworld: Awakening and the character will apparently be the central character in the new film, which is not claimed to be a reboot but an expansion of the existing universe. Sources say James had a contractual option to return because of his work on the previous film and he’ll star opposite two female characters.
Cory Goodman (Priest) has been hired for scriptwriting duties; while Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are producing. Casting is underway with plans to start shooting in the spring.
