Things start moving forward (again) on The Flash movie

March 1st, 2019 by Marc Comments

Just days after The Flash himself, Ezra Miller, was recorded saying the Flash movie is taking its time because they’re ensuring it’s a brilliant movie and love letter to the fans (here), we have some pretty big news.

New Line Cinema’s EVP of Production Michael Disco is departing to launch his own production company called The Disco Factory and will have an exclusive two-year producing deal with both New Line and Warner Bros.

Why does this matter?

Well, Disco was EP on movies such as San Andreas, Rampage, Central Intelligence, The Horrible Bosses franchise and Game Night and he’s moving on to producing The Sopranos prequel movie and then… we got there eventually… The Flash movie.

Spider-Man: Homecoming writerss John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will write and direct the movie.

No official release date yet, but we’d image they’ll be aiming for 2021 by this point… Aquaman and Flash in the same year? I can live with that.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
