It’s not much to go on, but we have new footage of Flash movie star Ezra Miller talking about why the movie has taken so long to arrive.
The movie has had a series of false starts (ahem) and after Miller’s debut in the disappointing Justice League, there was speculation that the movie may not happen at all or that, with the apparent loss of Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill as Batman and Superman respectively, that Miller may not even be still attached given that he is a big part of the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts franchise.
But no, the actor has revealed that the aim of the movie isn’t just to make one of the best superhero movies ever but also to make a gift to the fans and to introduce the idea of the speed force – which will tie together the multi-verse in the movies; he explains that the Marvel movies all take place on one world, but the DC adventures take place across multiple realities and universes and The Flash movie will explain how that all works.
Could this mean the upcoming Joker movie is the first multi-verse move?
Could it also mean they’ll nod to the Arrowverse and other DC shows? The Arrowverse especially has had several stories in the multiverse and has fully embraced this reality.
We’d love that to happen.
But in the meantime, have a listen to what Ezra Miller has to say… it’s all about hope, really.
