Well, it looks like Carrie White’s story isn’t over yet, with more to come in a second season.

In the book, fans will recall that Carrie doesn’t make it to a potential sequel/follow-up but the new series on Amazon from creator Stephen King and horror meastro/King acolyte Mike Flanagan goes in a different direction and it looks like there’s more to come.

A while back, Flanagan, when asked about his plans for Carrie’s future, said: “In my dream scenario, I think it’s three seasons.

“In my dream scenario, I think Carrie has a wonderful three-step arc. It’s a trilogy, really.”

Well, he may get his wish, as Amazon just announced season 2, and you can watch that announcement below.

After her father’s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social‑media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.

I won’t dare speculate where the story goes but fans of King’s will know what I mean when I say that this Carrie exists on a different level of the Tower and I’d say many will have noticed nods to King’s wider universe and the Dark Tower in Carrie – Sombre, the Eye of the Crimson King tattoos, the Shine, LaMerk Industries – and I’d say this new take on Carrie’s ending will lead to Breakers, Shining and much, much more.

Her story is far from finished. Carrie is returning for Season 2 on Prime.

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer.
