It looks like one task the Mission: Impossible team are having issues getting past is that of… pay disputes?
The sixth movie in the M:I franchise starring Tom Cruise was set to begin filming in January next year has stalled at the pre-production stage due to a dispute over Tom Cruise’s salary report THR.
Paramount are apparently balking over the actor’s take home on the movie set to be once again directed by the fifth installment’s Christopher McQuarrie: “One of the contentious points is Cruise’s back-end profit participation,” reports the outlet, “with the actor looking to match or exceed what he is getting paid by Universal for starring in The Mummy, which he is currently shooting in London. Mummy is a pivotal movie for Universal, which is looking to launch a cinematic franchise and has hinged plenty on Cruise’s star power.”
What this means for the movie is unknown at this stage. Will we still see it late next year? unknown… however we will go out on a limb and say it’s unlikely Paramount will dump Cruise over the money.
