Halloween is always an interesting time for film lovers. We all dig up our old horror films; brush off a year’s worth of dust and enjoy, or hate, the films in question. We do the same for Christmas, although let’s not talk about that now.

Well, with the sequel of Michael Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat, known simply as Trick ‘r Treat 2, still in development, Dougherty and a top notch team of co-writers and creators; Including Casey and Zach Shields (Krampus), artists Fiona Staples (Saga), Stuart Sayger (Bram Stoker’s Death Ship), Stephen Byrne (Buffy/Angel), and Zid (Son of Merlin), have a special surprise for us this Halloween.

A four-part collection of graphic novels that paves the way to the sequel came out last week in America. Titled ‘Days of the Dead’ the story is as follows; “Days of the Dead takes readers on a journey through Halloween history with four chilling new Trick ‘r Treat tales. Discover old-world lovers whose romance takes a chilling turn and Western pioneers who discover the dark side of the frontier.

Travel to 1950s Los Angeles for a tale of pure horror noir and into the heart of small-town America to see some pranksters taught a lesson they’ll never forget.”

It seems Sam is set to appear again and we all know that’s never a good thing.
