UPDATED…AGAIN!: Now With Trailer! – Taken 3 story details emerge… oh and it’s called Tak3n. No, seriously.

September 30th, 2014 by Marc Comments

Remember Liam Neeson said there wouldn’t be a third Taken? Well, he lied. And that’s ok because if you’re not happy with that he will find you, he will… oh, you get the idea.

Anyway, with the pics (here) from Taken 3 – or as it’s officially called, Tak3n (groan) – we are now getting plot details. And we’re kinda using the word ‘plot’ lightly.

Anyway.

Big Liam tells USA Today: “I have to go on the run, I’ll put it that way, from the not-so-lawful types and the lawful authorities. Bryan Mills served his country faithfully, but now even they are after him. They must not like me. This time, no more traveling. If my daughter was ‘taken’ again on a trip, Bryan Mills would have to be certifiably locked up for bad parenting.”

“It’s a rollicking good story. But I think this is the end. If I feel audiences saying, ‘Come on, he’s 62, enough is enough,’ I’m very sensitive to that and if I pick up that vibe it will all stop. And I’ll start playing dads or grandfathers,. But I keep myself pretty fit and my knees are still great. And it’s fun.”

Director Olivier Megaton (best. name. ever) tells Empire Magazine: “It’s like The Fugitive. Bryan is going to be chased through the whole movie, he’s going to be in danger much more”.

Do we want a third Taken? Personally I liked the first one in a disposable, need a shower afterwards sort of way, but the sequel had an interesting premise that ultimately was pretty awful. Third time’s a charm? We’ll all know in January next year…

UPDATE

A French poster has hit the interwebs…

UPDATE AGAIN: Here’s the official trailer for Tak3n, new poster and synopsis:

Liam Neeson returns as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills, whose reconciliation with his ex-wife is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered. Consumed with rage, and framed for the crime, he goes on the run to evade the relentless pursuit of the CIA, FBI and the police. For one last time, Mills must use his “particular set of skills,” to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now – his daughter.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
