Marvel have just revealed all the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 3 and, there’s no escaping it, it’s pretty impressive. Oh, and there’s your first look at the Infinity Gauntlet. You’re welcome.
At a special Press event, Disney and Marvel Studios presented one hell of a lineup that has comic fans and movie fans – including us all at FTN HQ – drooling in anticipation. The event was hosted by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.
UPDATED with a video of the event below.
And it went a little like this…
Captain America: Civil War!
Feige said the Civil War would revolve around At a “global superhuman registration with a specific inciting incident”. He added that “Secret identities aren’t as important in the MCU version of the story.”
Doctor Strange
Still no confirmation that Benedict Cumberbatch is Stephen Strange, despite what you think you heard, the movie will be released on November 4, 2016.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2
will now hit on May 5, 2017
Thor: Ragnarok
This will once again star Hemsworth and Hiddleston as Thor and Loki and Feige said it would pick up immediately after Avengers: Age of Ultron and will hit screens on July 28, 2017, taking Thor to “another level of his own franchise,” according to the Marvel Studios President.
Black Panther
Well, we don’t think there’s too much surprise about this one, but now we know that Chadwick Boseman will play the Panther in a solo movie on November 3, 2017 Feige teased that there’s a Black Panther Easter Egg in the Age of Ultron trailer that hit late last week and we, along with others, reckon it’s that Andy Serkis plays villain Ulysses Klaw.
Captain Marvel
WEll, this is one that has been rumoured for as long back as we can recall, but it’s cool to see that Marvel are following DC and announcing a female superhero movie. This tim it’s Carole Danvers’ time in the spotlight and we’ll see her on July 6, 2018 – no word on Katee Sackhoff’s involvement, sadly…
Inhumans
Again, this is one we’ve heard a lot about, including the rumours that Vin Diesel may star, but as of now all we know is that it’s coming on November 2, 2018.
Avengers: Infinity War Part I & II
Again, as has been rumoured for a while, it looks like Avengers 3 and 4 will indeed see the team fighting against Thanos and it will be spread over two movies. The first will hit on May 4, 2018 with the second scheduled for May 3, 2019!
Tidbits:
Feige confirmed Hulk will be in all the Avengers movies and a standalone could still happen
He said there’s no Black Widow movie as yet because “she’s so good working with the Avengers”
He wouldn’t comment on the Spider-man coming to the MCU rumours
He also confirmed there is a Runaway script in place but it’s not ready yet, however there is much talk about it at the minute in the TV and movie meetings.
You can see all the movie logos and a very cool look at Black Panther below.
