Vin Diesel teasing involvement in Inhumans movie with Marvel?

August 10th, 2014 by Marc 2 Comments

So Vin Diesel is Groot… and we all love him in the role. Yes, “We are Groot!” too… but we’ve been wondering since Marvel confirmed there could still be a place for Diesel to appear as another character in the Marvel Universe, just who he would be.

Well, on the actor’s Facebook Page, this weekend he posted an image of Groot with the message:

Vin and Marvel… you all made it happen!
I get the strange feeling that Marvel thinks I’m Inhuman… Haha.

So, he’s saying thanks for the fans helping make him part of the movie universe and loving him so much as Groot – fair play, but the mention of “Inhumans” is what peaked our interest.

Kevin Feige has hinted that an Inhumans movie is something they are considering – If you’re unsure who they are check here, it’s an impressive story – and the Inhumans have a leader by the name of Blackbolt, a character who never talks because his voice can level cities because it’s so powerful. Wouldn’t that be ironic if Marvel put his voice in one character and his body in another? Anyway, check out the pic below which shows Blackbolt AND Diesel as Riddick… we love the similarities

Of course it could be nothing, but throw in the fact that we’re hearing Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch are going to be called Inhumans in Age of Ultron (they can’t use the term ‘mutant’ as Fox has copyright – mad, huh?) and we’re pretty sure that there could be something to this…

I am Groot! But I’m also… well, we’ll see…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….

It’s not all bad that they can’t use Mutants, when you REALLY think about it, the way mutants are portrayed is completely ridiculous. “Oh your dad can manipulate metal? And you can manipulate the laws of probability, and your brother can move super fast, but NOT manipulate metal? That… okay.”

Inhumans on the other hand are not born with powers, they get their powers from the terrigen mists which are chaotic by nature, it wouldn’t be too far fetched that their father could control metal (in the past tense because obviously magneto will never appear in the MCU), yet their powers are completely different.
