Vivica A Fox says Independence Day sequel is filming and drops some plot details…

May 20th, 2015 by Marc Comments

Vivica A. Fox has confirmed that filming has started on Independence Day 2 and has even spilled some of the details of the story.

Fox played Jasmine Dubrow/Hiller in the first movie and has said it’s been pretty strange coming back on set of a movie she filmed almost 20 years ago.

“The aliens are back and it’s about 15 years later…” ok, this we gathered so far… “I just started this week and walking back on that set and working with Jeff Goldblum and Roland Emmmerich the director, it was like the first film was yesterday.

“We are so blessed that the audience has been so hungry for this sequel to happen. Unfortunately, Will [Smith] decided that he didn’t want to come back. I’m working with a young up and coming actor named Jesse Usher, who has all the wonderful qualities that will remind you of Will but he’s playing my son. I’m glad that they chose Jesse Usher and Will gave them his blessing when they cast him. So, we’re going to hold it down and the sci-fi audience are so faithful that I think the sequel will be successful.”

Oh and she’s not a stripper any more… “Now she’s a hospital administrator and she’s running the hospital and I’m glad that they moved her character forward as a woman.”

Judd Hirsch bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum, Vivica A. Fox, Jessie A. Usher, Liam Hemsworth, and Charolette Gainsbourg star in the alien fighting sequel.

Independence Day 2 invades on June 24th, 2016.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
