So, we’re pacing the floors in anticipation of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and, luckily, to keep us pacified, we are getting plenty of info about the movie and the future of the DC cinematic universe.

It seems that the Warners suits who have already seen the movie have been very impressed (here), especially with Ben Affleck’s take on Batman. So much so, that they are demanding more Bat for your buck when it comes to the future DC movies: “The latest hot rumor I am hearing is that Warners is requesting more Batman be put into the movie and less Superman.  Supposedly, Ben Affleck’s Batman is so good that he is blowing Henry Cavill’s Superman right off the screen,” reports Heroic Hollywood.

While we here at FTN are massive and unapologetic Batman fans, we are getting just a little tired of him being the jewel in the DC/Warners crown. He has been cinema’s biggest superhero since Tim Burton made Batman in 1989 and then again when Christopher Nolan made the Dark Knight trilogy, so we are more than happy to let him sit back and relax and let someone else shoulder the burden for a while.

That being said, given how true the new movie looks to the comic character and what we’re hearing from Warners, if this Batman is the Batman we’ve been waiting all these years to see properly realised, then who are we to argue?

In related news, Jesse Eisenberg was on The Today Show last week (watch it below) and the topic of BvS came up and the actor seems very impressed with the gravitas of the film and the role of Lex Luthor: “It’s just the most incredible character. It was written by this guy Chris Terrio, this is his next movie after Argo, who is just this brilliant writer of characters. So this movie is not a cartoonish superhero movie, it’s this very serious, well-acted, well-written, well-directed movie. It’s really phenomenal.”

Meanwhile, Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa was at Fan Expo Canada (watch below) and talked about how many people think Aquaman is a bit of a joke but how Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will change all that: “I can’t see my busting out a bunch of jokes, I don’t think it will be like that….(The jokes) are cute and funny, there’s a bunch of jokes about him and it’s like, let’s wait. Let’s just wait a little bit and then we can make jokes.”

We doubt too many people will want to make jokes about Aquaman once Momoa takes on the role.

What do you all think about these bits and pieces? Are you excited for the superhero confrontation to end them all? Let us know in the usual ways.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman, and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Jason Momoa will also be making an appearance as Aquaman.

Directed by Zack Snyder, written by Chris Terrio, from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, the film is produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder with Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Wesley Coller, David S. Goyer and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to open worldwide on March 25, 2016.
