WATCH: Back from the dead? The Flatliners remake gets a trailer…

June 13th, 2017 by Marc Comments

So another cult hit has been remade? Shocker.

The first trailer and poster for the new Flatliners is here and, well, it looks ok. But we’re imagining it’ll come under the same banner as the remakes of Ghostbusters and Point Break…

However, there is some talent involved here as Niels Arden Oplev, the Danish director behind the original The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, is helming the remake while the script is by Source Code writer Ben Ripley.

Plus, Ellen Paige and Rogue One’s Diego Luna being in there too isn’t a bad thing… but we’ll know for sure in September.

So there may be hope yet…

In Flatliners, five medical students, obsessed by the mystery of what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring and dangerous experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience – giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife. But as their experiments become increasingly dangerous, they are each haunted by the sins of their pasts, brought on by the paranormal consequences of trespassing to the other side.

Cast: Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, Kiersey Clemons

In theaters September 29

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
