We have our first look at the new Candyman movie from new horror maestro Jordan Peele in the form of a teaser for the trailer due on Thursday and the new poster (above).

While not much is known about the new version of the iconic 90s horror, it is believed it will be a sequel to the 1992 original, ignoring – as has become the norm – and will see actress Cassie Kramer playing Virginia Madsen’s character of Helen Lyle.

Will Tony Todd return as the murderous Candyman? We’ll have to wait and see…

MGM has released a teaser for the new Candyman with the first full trailer due on Thursday.

Candyman is directed by Ni DaCosta and written by Jordan Peele and Win Rosenfeld. It’s a direct sequel to the original Candyman movie from 1992. Tony Todd reprises his role as the title character. The film’s cast also includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, and Colman Domingo. Principal photography on the new Candyman began in August 2019 in the Chicago area.

Filming wrapped in September 2019.

The new Candyman movie will debut in movie theaters nationwide on June 12th.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
