So earlier today Connor from The Movie Maniac contacted us with a revelation that he’d discovered in Return of the Jedi about Darth Vader.
We’ll let you read what he told us for yourselves: “I found something while editing a video a few weeks back. What if I was to tell you Darth Vader had a broken neck? It is literally a blink and you miss it moment… I think Star Wars fans would find it interesting about how these few frames does impact the character.”
Now, watch Connor’s video (below) and he does make a very convincing argument, as it certainly appears that Vader does have a repaired break in the x-ray we see when Emperor Palpatine is using Force lightening on him in the finale.
What does this mean for Vader? Well, not much in the overall story, but to the character it means that his physical pain was even worse than we imagined; it also raises the question of when it happens. Did James Luceno know when he wrote Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader? Or are we missing something?
Can you cast any light on the subject or is Vader really rocking a broken neck throughout the OT as well as everything else?
We want to hear your thoughts, folks.
