It looks like the guys at Making Star Wars have caught a fascinating little detail in the new behind the scenes making video from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The video, from ABC News, has Lucasfilm’s Landis Fields talking about how K2SO came to be on the big screen – there;s interesting bits in there about how parts of the droid were based on the Star Tours ride in Disneyland and Lucasfilm wanted to ensure it didn’t just look like a man in a suit.

However, more interestingly, it shows Firefly actor Alan Tudyk on set in his motion capture suit and at 00:44 into the video he can be seen filming a scene that appears to show him dying and beside him it looks like Diego Luna’s Cassian character.
Now, we know there were extensive reboots for the movie but is this how they both died originally? It’s certainly interesting footage.
