Eight new clips from Brad Peyton’s disaster flick have just gone online… and we’re still really hopeful that this can deliver all it’s promising.

Plus, it has the Rock being a superhero. Good enough for us.

After the infamous San Andreas Fault finally gives, triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake in California, a search and rescue helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his estranged wife make their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only daughter. But their treacherous journey north is only the beginning, and when they think the worst may be over…it’s just getting started.

San Andreas also stars Carla Gugino (Night at the Museum, “Entourage”), Alexandra Daddario (Percy Jackson, “True Detective”), Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four), Archie Panjabi (“The Good Wife”), Hugo Johnstone-Burt (“Home and Away”), Art Parkinson (“Game of Thrones”) and Oscar nominee Paul Giamatti (Cinderella Man). The film reunites Johnson with Peyton and producer Beau Flynn, following their collaboration on the global hit Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.

San Andreas is produced by Beau Flynn (Hercules, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island). Richard Brener, Samuel J. Brown, Michael Disco, Rob Cowan, Tripp Vinson and Bruce Berman serve as executive producers. The screenplay is by Carlton Cuse, story by Andre Fabrizio & Jeremy Passmore.

San Andreas opens in 3D and 2D theaters Friday, May 29.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
