WATCH: Fast & Furious 9 set for home streaming?

May 2nd, 2020 by Marc Comments

The Fast and Furious Saga continues as now we’re left pondering even further when we’ll see the ninth movie in the franchise.

F9: The Fast Saga was originally set to hit cinemas this month, on the 22nd, but was then pushed back to April 2nd, 2021 because of that damned virus but now we have reason to pause as there is potentially a new when and even a new where that we may possibly see the movie.

Craig Lieberman who was a technical advisor on the first two movies, has said in a new video on his channel, that he has learned from insiders that the movie will not be released on the big screen but will rather go straight to home streaming.

Now, personally, I feel that while we have seen studios release big movies on streaming (The Hunt, The Invisible Man, Trolls 2, Bloodshot and more), movies such as the Fast & Furious franchise are unlikely to join them. These are tentpole movies, and for Universal are on par with the Marvel or Star War movies, being a massive part of their profit.

I also feel that the current situation with AMC and Universal over the home release of Trolls 2 and the apparent boycotting of Universal movies by AMC and Odeon Cinemas, is where this report is coming from, so I doubt this will be the case.

However, you just never really know with the world changing on a daily basis right now.

Would you be happy to see the next Fast & Furious at home or, like me, would you be happier to find the biggest, loudest screen possible to enjoy it on? Let me know…

No matter how fast you are, no one outruns their past.

Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon.

This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most.

His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, next year’s The Suicide Squad).

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
