Phil Lord and Chris Miller are big news right now after the Jump Street movies and LEGO now being the most awesome movie ever (we still haven’t forgiven them for turning down Ghostbusters III, though), so the idea of them working with creator, writer and star Will Forte on FOX’s upcoming end of the world comedy series The Last Man On Earth has us a little excited.

“The single-camera comedy chronicles the life and adventures of an average guy – and humanity’s last hope – who discovers what life is like when no one is telling you what you can and cannot do. ComingSoon.net got a chance to talk to Miller about the new series.”

However, talking to Coming Soon, the duo were chatty about the Jump Street movie series too.

What about the much-talked about Men In Black/Jump Street crossover?: “Well, it’s very, very early on in this crazy fever pitch, but it’s definitely a really interesting concept that makes you think. Talking about it, developing it with Jonah and Channing and Rodney and the studio, we can’t just do the, “Hey, it’s the same thing again” schtick because we did that already.”

What about the sequels we saw at the end of 22 Jump Street, are they an issue making future Jump Street movies? “Those are canon, all 22 sequels. If we’re going to do something, it’s got to be different but still have that same very specific Jump Street flavor to it, ” says Miller.

The Last Man On Earth will remiere on FOX with back-to-back episodes on Sunday, March 1st at 9:00pm ET/PT
