Jon Favreau’s live action Jungle Book from Disney has just had its live action trailer released and it looks sumptuous…

Starring Bill Murray, Idris Elba and Scarlett Johansson to name but a few, the trailer looks massive and part Jumanji, part Attenborough….

An orphan boy is raised in the jungle with the help of a pack of wolves, a bear, and a black panther.

Directed by Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”), and written by Justin Marks, the film is a new take on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories, inspired by Disney’s classic animated film. The film follows Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a human raised by a family of wolves who’s forced to leave the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), himself a survivor of attack by humans, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray), Mowgli embarks on a perilous journey back to Human society. Along the way, he encounters the snake Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johansson), and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire. Lupita Nyong’o also appears as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, with Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela. It hits theaters in 3D on April 15, 2016.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
