So, remember the rumours that Mel Gibson was in talks to direct Suicide Squad 2? That were then sort of confirmed by the actor?
Well he was put on the spot by EW (video below) last night at the Oscars and he did indeed confirm that there are talks going on but he seemed to be trying to seem nonchalant about the whole thing.
But he’s not fooling us… we saw that glint in his eye!
“I just met some guys about story points. It’s not a done deal or anything,” Gibson said, “But it’s just fun to shoot the bull when it comes to stories. I love doing it. And if we can elevate any kind of concept it’s good. We’ll see.”
With Matt Reeves set for The Batman and Chris McKay set for Nightwing, we have a strong feeling that we mightn’t be too far away from an announcement that Gibson has the Suicide Squad gig and we would love to see what he does with Task Force X… wouldn’t you?
